Patchwork Receiving Blanket

I decided since I had some leftover material from a rag quilt I made, I would whip up this lightweight receiving blanket. This took about 1 hr to complete.
Here are the supplies I used.
42 6x6 Squares
1 yard of coordinating baby flannel
Thread
I sewed 7 rows of 6 squares together, ironing seams open after each row. Then cut a piece of flannel to match. Sewed right sides together leaving an opening to turn. Turn inside out & iron. Sew a zigzag stitch all around the edge and your done!! Won't this make a sweet little gift???

Easy Baby Gifts

Easy to make Baby gifts!!

Awhile back I seen some rag burp cloths on  homemadebyjill & thought they would be great Baby gifts to keep on hand. She has a great tutorial that is easy to follow. All I did was found a burp cloth shape I liked & used it as a pattern Cut 2 pieces of baby flannel & 1 warm and natural batting. Stack right sides together & sew about a 1/4 inch all the way around. Then sew a straight line through the middle to hold the batting in place. Then cut the exposed batting close to the seam and discard. Cut little snips all around the edge of the flannel and wash to get the rag effect. Then I found a bib and used it for a pattern. I just used 2 pieces of baby flannel and sewed them with the right sides together leaving a few inches to turn. Then I sewed all around the edge & added a small snap to the top! Pair these two together & they'd make a great little gift!

Car Seat Cover

I had so much fun making this Cowboy Baby Car Seat Cover for my nephew. He told me he wants to be a Cowboy when he grows up so when I seen this material by Michael Miller I knew he would love it ;) I found the instuctions on makeitdo.blogspot.com I did the straps a little different as I wanted them to have a bandana kinda look.

Yea I finished something!!

I haven't been to productive lately.. I did however go to a sewing class where I learned to make these cute flannel blankets.. The back is the polka dot fabric.... I was quite excited to be able to come home from the class and finish it! It's not perfect but it's pretty cute ;)

My first Rag Quilt....

I am really quite proud of myself for actually finishing something!! I have been going to quilting classes and everthing we've made I haven't figured out how to finish them when I got home.... So last week I decided to make a rag quilt.. (no binding required:) ) I think it turned out so cute. Next one I make tho I will make a few changes.. But overall I'm just excited to have a FINISHED Quilt..

A Baby gift from My Skater Boy...

My little Skater Boy has grown pretty close to our next door neighbor...Who is like a big Brother to him. They play basketball for hours...(which is hard for his Dad to do with only one good arm) they make jumps with their bikes..(which is pretty funny to watch) and on occasion done a little skateboarding...Until he found out they were expecting so he was so sweet and gave his Long Board Skate Board to TJ. Apparently you can't be a Skater and a Dad at the same time:) Him and his wife recently had their first Baby and TJ wanted to find them just the right gift. We looked online and found these adorable little Vans and matching onesie from www.littleruler.com It only took a couple days to receive them and they are the cutest little shoes ever!! Tj was pretty proud to take his gift to the new baby.
