Personalized Name Pillows

Logan Has a new quilt shop named My Girlfriend's Quilt Shoppe! It is Fabulous.. Everything is so neat & Organized & the sample projects are adorable!! They also offer classes!! I am so super excited about having a FUN & FRESH quilt shop. Here is a sweet pillow I made for my little guy. The pattern is from Kimberbell Kids that I purchased from the shop. New Apron!!

Do you ever have an Ahhh moment?? Well I've wanted to make an apron for a long long time.. I am not a great sewer & can barely sew a straight line.. I have a small Brother sewing machine that goes forward & backwards & Zigzag...I believe it was $59 dollars at Walmart on an after Thanksgiving Sale about 5 years ago. I bought the pattern for this over a years ago & was really intimidated to even try to make it.. Something about the patterns... There was alot of "Terms" on there that I was unsure of since I haven't sewed anything with a pattern since like 7th grade. Well I decided it was now or never. lol & I am soo proud that I now own my very own APRON & it's reversible so the other side is the cute green flowers! Definitely Easy!!! I will be making more!! I used Simplicity Pattern #2691

Raggy Letters Fridge Magnets

While on the hunt for some fridge Alphabet Letters for my son, I ran across a tutorial Here for some made from fabric!! I love that they don't scratch up the fridge.  I used scrap Fabrics & old business card magnets, so they didn't cost me a dime!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!

Well my pancake attempt was a big FAIL. My husband thought it was a pot pie. lol  So I set off to find something else to make for Jax's kitchen. While blog surfing for more felt food ideas I came across this tutorial for this darling chicken dinner.. with a baked potato and broccoli. I was afraid it would be to technical for my amateur sewing abilities but I was wrong. Sweet little Gift

Patchwork Receiving Blanket

I decided since I had some leftover material from a rag quilt I made, I would whip up this lightweight receiving blanket. This took about 1 hr to complete.
Here are the supplies I used.
42 6x6 Squares
1 yard of coordinating baby flannel
Thread
I sewed 7 rows of 6 squares together, ironing seams open after each row. Then cut a piece of flannel to match. Sewed right sides together leaving an opening to turn. Turn inside out & iron. Sew a zigzag stitch all around the edge and your done!! Won't this make a sweet little gift???

Beaded Fabric Necklace

I watched a show on Studio 5 that had these fabulous Beaded Fabric Necklaces & I knew I had to make some! I wanted this one to be a little longer so instead of knotting in between each bead I used black mini hair rubber bands. Felt Food

My First attempt at Felt Food

I was really surprised how hard it is to find play food to buy. Our little one had Christmas Money to spend and he got himself his very own kitchen. There was not one set of food or pans to be found at the store anywhere?? So his GG (Great Grandma) set him up with tons of dishes & Pots & Pans, even a mini rolling pin. I got looking on the Internet and discovered Felt Food. I was in love ;) So here is my first attempt, Bacon & an Egg. I was surprised how easy they were to whip up. I just cut out my own shapes and It only took about five minutes to make them. They fit perfectly into his little frying pan...I'm thinking Pancakes next??

Hot Potato!!

Baked Potato Bag

Awhile back I bought this cute cow print bake potato bag! I have heard potato's turn out fluffy & perfect in these bags! I wanted to make a few for little gifts so I just used the one I bought as a pattern and they are super easy to make and great to use up some fabric scraps too. Just give with a 10lb bag of potatoes and your set. I thought these would make cute neighbor gifts for next year. Primitive Snowman Pop Ornaments

I seen some of these Snowman Pop Ornaments a few years back at a craft fair & I thought they were so cute that I had to make some for my snowman Tree. These would also look great in a gift basket or tied to a poem with some Snowman Soup.

Supplies needed:

Batting (Just scraps will do)
Coffee or Tea

Orange felt or embroidery floss

Black Embroidery floss

Stuffing

Small Black seed beads

Ribbon

Blush
Popsicle stick
Hot Glue

Instructions:
1- Coffee or Tea Stain Batting
2- Cut 2 circles the size you want (I used a drinking glass)
3- Sew on beads for eyes and sew mouth
4- Cut and Glue on felt for nose (or you could use orange embroidery floss and make your own)
5- Sew right sides together of circles leaving an opening  at the bottom and Turn and stuff with batting
6- Put Popsicle stick in bottom and hot glue shut. (Careful not to burn)
7- Blush Cheeks
8- Hot Glue on Ribbon Bow
9- Sew on embroidery floss hanger
10- Enjoy

I bought Christmas fabric last year and I was determined I was going to make Christmas Stockings with it... Well that didn't happen so I decided I would make a Table Runner instead.. I found a Tutorial at diary of a quilter that was super easy to follow and I am happy to report that I did the binding (just don't enlarge the picture) and cut the fabric on the bias..  Thanks to many youtube videos lol.

Crib Rail Cover

As most of you know we adopted my Great Nephew a few months ago.. He is now almost a year old and is the cutest little baby! Since our youngest is 14 years old we have had alot of re-learning to do. With the help of my sweet Mom we purchased a really nice crib that converts into a toddler bed, then into a full size bed.. Well our little "Tink" (short for stinker) started teething and guess what we found out... That babies chew on their cribs.. Now that I think about it my oldest did that too ;) So to protect his little teeth and his beautiful crib I knew I'd better put my sewing skills to work & Pronto.. So Tink & I set off for the Fabric Store & since he loves the movie Toy Story he picked out this material. So for the project I measured the length of the crib & the width of the rail. Then I just sewed & turned the material inside out. I also used  a double thick piece of batting in the middle. I used bias tape and sewed it every so often for ties. It has worked soo well!

Owl Rag Quilt

Summer Fun Owl Rag Quilt... This is my Favorite Rag Quilt I have made so far.. Such Fun & Bright Colors.. I would defiantly keep it if  my little girl wasn't 17 ;) I have although listed this in my sweet girls Etsy Shop.. Which is doing quite well at 18 sells in a weeks time. 4th of July Table Runner

My first Table Runner... Yes it is done in time for Summer! (Amazing I know) I cut my squares 5x5 and sewed them together. I lined it with warm & natural batting and put a Stars Fabric for the backing and stitched around each square for the quilting. I did a easy binding on the edges to complete it.

Baby Washcloths

If you have a baby you must make these Soft washcloths. I purchased a pack of baby washcloths at Khols and they were so rough, then I bought some at Walmart and they were soft but flimsy, so I took matters in my own hands and went to my sewing corner and whipped these up. I already had all the material so they cost nothing ;) All I did was cut 2 8x8 squares, 1 out of baby flannel and 1 from chenille. Put right sides together and sew leaving a couple inches to turn. Sew around the outside and your done!

Cowboy Rag Quilt

I love making these Rag Quilts... This one turned out sooo cute!!! Now what to do with it?? I'm sure I will find a cute little cowboy that would love this little quilt. The front is all cotton fabric with a flannel back & batting in between. I purchased the fabrics from Hobby Lobby.. Love that store.
